Fortified tower of the southern wall

The last spheric panorama was taken inside a fortified tower of the southern wall – the one that is adjacent to the round turret with a staircase. The interior of the fortified tower reflects the condition of all other preserved rooms. It is worth to mention that a photographic documentation made before 1945 has been preserved. It illustrates the outstanding charm of individual interiors as well as the entire castle residence.

There is a beautiful view from the tower over Lake Szymbarskie, part of the old park and a forest complex stretching out along the lake towards Iława. The average depth of the lake is 6.1 m with the maximum one of 25.1 m. River Osa – the right-bank tributary of the Vistula flows through the northern part of the lake.
